This year, Stryi district has fully transitioned to implementing the ASOOP e-ticket system in public transport operating across three united territorial communities in the Lviv region.
This was announced by CEO of Ukrainian Geoinformation Systems LLC, Andrii Kovalyk.
'ASOOP operator GIS-SERVICE LLC has introduced cashless fare payment, which is now available in public transport in the Stryi, Hrabovetsko-Dulibivska, and Morshyn UTCs.
Despite challenging economic times, we continue our work in Ukraine, developing new applications and implementing modern services. With such small but important technical victories, we are bringing our country closer to its most cherished victory over the aggressor. Our soldiers, upon returning home, should see a renewed Ukraine — and to achieve this, we must work on it every single day. That’s why our IT company is developing innovative and accessible services for everyone,' emphasized Andrii Kovalyk.
From now on, as the developer notes, residents of the Stryi City Territorial Community can pay for public transport using the Socium transport card, QR code, mobile app, or bank card.
The 'Socium' e-ticket transport card can be purchased in Stryi at the 'Navchalna Knyha' store (Khmelnytskoho St., 39) and at Stryi Bus Station AS-3 (Passage). Passengers simply tap the card on the validator, which deducts the fare. They can also scan a QR code inside the vehicle for a cashless payment. If preferred, a passenger can use a bank card via the validator near the driver. Cash payments are also available by purchasing a paper ticket from the driver, though the fare will be significantly higher.
The 'Socium' mobile app has also been improved, now offering enhanced protection against malicious attacks. Last year, it was the target of a major cyberattack by Russian hackers. Now the full range of features is available again — including real-time tracking of public transport and schedule viewing.
It’s worth noting that privileged passenger categories were the first to benefit from the e-ticket system in public transport in Stryi, Hrabovetsko-Dulibivska, and Morshyn UTCs. In 2022, over 20,000 personalized Socium social cards were issued free of charge via the CNAP centers to beneficiaries. Later, the service became available to all passengers via the transport card and the Socium mobile application.
